Still water "Amrita" has a pH level of 9.6. In order to improve the taste of the water, it is carbonized. Whenever a solution (drinking water, lemonade, etc.) is saturated with CO2 under pressure, the pH level of the product is reduced. It results in an acidic environment, and therefore the pH level of Amrita mineral water is 6.4.
When you open a bottle, a reverse process starts – as a result of decarbonisation, the pH level of the water increases. The same process occurs in the stomach after drinking carbonated water – the pH returns to the level prior to the carbonization of "Amrita", i.e., 9.6.
Carbonation of Amrita reduces the pH level only temporarily – until the water reaches the digestive tract.
